Shatavari has cooling, calming vata and pitta balancing properties
Shatavari is consumed in the form of decoction , powder , tablets or the roots are processed in milk.
Fresh juice – 10 – 20 ml Decoction is advised in a dosage of 50 – 100 ml per day Powder – 3 – 6 gm in divided dose per day 1tbsp of powder is added to 2 cups of water , boiled and reduced to half a cup, filtered and can be taken as hot tea.
In women with high estrogen, breast tenderness or in women with increased prolactin.
Equal powdered quantities of shatavari , ashwagandha and kapikachu in 3 – 6 gms boiled with milk for 5 minutes, filtered and consumed promotes sexual libido and sperm count. 3 – 6 gm of equal quantity of powdered mixture of shatavari and pippali along with banana and milk during night or early morning empty stomach is good for gaining weight. 3 – 6 gm of shatavari powder mixed with 5 – 6 gms cardamom added to 300 ml boiled water and kept for a while and taken in divided doses helps urinary tract infection.
